Contract to completion: The Gosltruct Homes building process

Building a home is a huge commitment and a major life decision. We understand that it can be a little daunting and that you might be a little nervous going into it. To give you peace of mind, we’re here to help any way we can throughout the entire process,  from day one to the moment you walk through the front door of your dream home (and beyond).

To make 100% sure you know what you’re getting into, we’ve put together a quick guide to the Golstruct Homes building process.

1. Getting to know you

The first step is simple. We sit down to talk to you in person if we can (but we’ll make do with Zoom if we have to!) and work to understand what you want out of a home. We find out more about where you want to live, what you need in a property and what your budget is so that we can start planning.

2. Selecting your section

Once we’ve met and talked, we get the ball rolling by finding a section that ticks all your boxes. We pop the land on hold while we design your home and finish up the paperwork.

3. Designing your dream home

Now the fun starts! During this stage you get the chance to meet with our designer to talk about what you want your home to look like.

We take the time to get to know your family and your lifestyle, so that we can design a home that suits you to a tee.

4. Finishing up the paperwork

Once we’ve got your home designed, we get stuck into the paperwork. No need to worry, we’ll make it easy for you!

We finalise plans and send contracts to your lawyer to approve. Once we’re given the OK, we organise building consent plans to be lodged with Auckland Council for approval. Simple as that.

5. Meet the interior designer

It’s time to get your design magazines out and scour the internet for inspiration. Our interior designer helps you customise every inch of your home to suit your tastes, from paint and flooring, to tiles, kitchen layout, fixtures and fittings.

6. The build begins

Once we’ve ironed out all the contracts and design details, your dream home will start to take shape. We’ll keep in touch and offer site visits throughout the construction so that we can keep you involved and share in the excitement.

7. Get the champagne ready!

When construction is complete, fittings are installed and finishing touches are made, your home is ready for you to move in. We’ll drop off your keys and run you through the maintenance and care guidelines. This stage is much better when there’s at least two bottles of champagne involved!

This last stage is the best part of our jobs and there are few things better than the look on our customers faces when they see their completed home for the first time.  If you’re looking to build a new property or buy an existing new build, we’d love to share that moment with you too.
